Money and pricing
How much does a plumber cost?
A $0 call out fee starts things off, then you receive one fixed written price for the complete job before any work begins. The figure you approve is the figure on the invoice.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or public holidays?
No. Overtime rates simply do not exist here, so a Sunday night callout is priced exactly the same way as a Tuesday morning job.
What happens if I decline the quote?
You owe nothing, because the assessment and quote cost $0 either way and there is no pressure to proceed. Plenty of callers just want to know what they are dealing with.

Availability and response
Do you really answer the phone at 2am?
Yes, a licensed plumber rather than an answering machine picks up day or night. They will tell you what to do while you wait and get a van rolling out to you.
How fast can you get here?
We work these streets constantly, so the van reaching you has often just finished a nearby job. You get an honest arrival window when you call rather than a vague promise.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
A burst pipe, gas smell, overflowing toilet, sewage backing up indoors or water pouring through a ceiling all count. If in doubt, call and describe it, and we will tell you honestly how urgent it is, with the emergency plumbing page covering the common scenarios in more detail.
What should I do while waiting for the plumber to arrive?
Turn off the water at the meter for a flood, or the gas at the meter if you smell gas, and keep everyone clear of the affected area. The plumber who answers your call will walk you through the right steps for your specific situation.

Services and how we work
Which plumbing services do you cover?
The full trade: general plumbing, drainage, hot water and after-hours emergency work, from a dripping tap to a full sewer line replacement. Nothing gets referred out to a third party.
Is the work fully licensed and insured?
Every plumber on the team works under licence #275278C with full insurance behind every job. The compliance certificates arrive with your invoice without you needing to ask.
Can you work in apartments and strata buildings?
Yes, and most dwellings here are medium-to-high density, so strata approvals and building manager coordination are routine practice for us. That spans everything from a toilet installation in a walk-up to a shared hot water plant in a tower.
Why do drains block so often in the older streets?
The 19th-century housing here was served by clay drainage that cracks with age, and mature street trees push roots into those aged joints. We clear the blockage, then fix the line properly so it stops happening, and blocked drains explains how we diagnose it.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
If the tank is leaking from the body, replacement is usually the honest answer. We assess the unit, price both paths, and never push a replacement a repair would genuinely serve.
Do you handle gas work?
Yes, including gas leak response, cooktop and bayonet connections, and gas hot water systems. Every line we touch is pressure-tested across the full installation and certified before we leave.
Do you do planned work too, not just callouts?
Absolutely. Renovation season brings a steady run of bathroom plumbing and kitchen plumbing behind opened walls, and we quote planned work weeks out just as readily as we answer a midnight flood.
Can you help with ongoing maintenance for a unit or building?
We can, and a planned maintenance plumbing visit catches the worn hoses, valves and fittings before they fail at the worst possible moment. Property managers and strata committees book us on regular cycles for exactly that reason.

The local patch
What areas do you cover besides this suburb?
We service the surrounding Lower North Shore patch, including McMahons Point, Crows Nest, Cammeray, Neutral Bay and Waverton, with the same licensed team and the same fixed pricing.
Does the office district change the kind of work you do?
It does, because the commercial towers and hospitality strip generate patterns of their own, from backflow testing for tenancies to grease-related drainage in restaurant fitouts. Our vans carry the parts for residential faults and commercial ones alike.
What warranty comes with the work?
Every job carries our Lifetime Labour Warranty, so if something is not right we come back to make it right, with no questions and no cost attached.
How do I get started?
Call (02) 9072 0528 and describe what is happening, or leave your details on the contact page for a callback. A licensed plumber will tell you what it likely means, what to stop using, and when we can realistically be there.
